IS 모술 대모스크 첨탑 파괴 해외반응

12세기 후반인 1172년에 건축된 이라크 유적인 모술의 알누리 대모스크(Al-Nuri Mosque, 혹은 The Great Mosque)와 기울어진 첨탑이 IS에게 폭파됐습니다. 알누리 대모스크는 2014년에 IS가 자칭 ‘칼리파 제국’을 선포한 근거지입니다. 더불어 모스크의 명물인 45m 높이의 기울어진 미나렛(첨탑)도 함께 파괴됐습니다. 

이로써 1980년대 이란.이라크 전쟁에도 견뎠지만 결국 ISIS에 의해 알누리 대모스크 유적은 폐허가 되고 말았습니다.

외신들은 ISIS가 모술 탈환작전을 수행 중인 이라크군의 포위망이 좁혀지자, 궁지에 몰려 대모스크를 폭파한 것으로 보고 있습니다. 

하지만 IS는 "수요일 오후 대모스크 및 미나렛 폭파는 미군 전투기가 했다"고 발표. 미국 정부는 "ISIS의 주장은 1000% 거짓”이라고 반박했습니다.
