미국 대통령 도널드 트럼프가 선거철에 주장하던 멕시코와의 국경지대 장벽건설, 이슬람국가 난민 입국 금지 등에 관한 행정명령에 서명할 예정입니다. 

이 거대한 벽을 세우는 데는 100억 달러 이상의 거액이 들어갈 것임에도 추진할 모양입니다. 또 국경장벽 건설 행정명령 이외에도 공약으로 내건 조건들을 신속하게 이행할 움직임을 보이고 있습니다. 이란, 소말리아, 이라크, 수단, 시리아, 예멘 난민에 대한 미국 입국비자 발급을 제한하는 행정명령에도 서명할 방침입니다. 오바마가  2017년에 11만명의 난민을 수용하겠다고 말한 것과 반대되는 파격적인 행보입니다.
